Bangui and Geneva, 29 October 2024 : The Central African Republic (CAR) and the Central African Forest Initiative (CAFI) are launching a Call for Expressions of Interest (EoI) with the aim of selecting the implementing organization (or consortium) able to ensure the implementation of an integrated project, pre-identified in CAR's REDD+ National Investment Framework.
The intervention area for this pilot project is Bangui and its surrounding area (see the related CAFI-funded Pre-feasibility study)
The maximum amount is USD 10 million.
The implementation period is 5 years (renewable).
The approach for this integrated project is based on the following three axes:
- Axis 1: Institutional strengthening of stakeholders in the intervention areas
- Area 2: Land use planning of territories
- Area 3: Implementation of development plans and REDD+ measures with an emphasis on the deployment of payment for environmental services.
